All rooms can transfer any activity that is done within the nursery to the playground and we have our own indiividual outdoor resource boxes with equipment, especially tailored for outdoor use. This area is also uses CCTV for added security.

The nursery operates on two floors and has decorative art work flowing throughout the entrance way leading to the children’s play rooms.

The Baby Room can cater for a maximum of nine children with staff on a 1:3 ratio. The babies can enjoy playing in the heuristic area, role play, cosy corner looking at books, mark making and a variety of messy activities from day to day.

The Toddler Room caters for 12 children, also using a 1:3 ratio. Construction, role play, small world, sensory and mark making are available in this room, with the sand also being a popular choice everyday. The Toddlers love getting messy with foam and paint too!

Both of these rooms operate from the ground floor, giving ease of access to the outdoor area.

The Tweenie room caters for 15 children aged 21-36 months. The area allows for floor activities, such as trains, cars and garages, construction, a book/quiet area for relaxing, dressing up and role play and sensory experiences. This room is also excellent as it can be transformed into a sleeping room for children who still require an afternoon nap, whilst the wet floor area can have activities for children who do not require a sleep. There is also an ICT table, where children can access a computer and laptops. Sand and water is constantly available across the day, and various art resources to make their very own masterpieces. This room is also where a lot of children begin potty training and our staff can provide their expertise to help support in this area.

The Pre-School room operates across two large rooms, one being a lino floor area and one completely carpeted. In the lino room children benefit from messy activities, sand and water and unlimited access to the art trolley. In the carpet room we have a small world area, ICT table, a construction and numeracy area, a book area which is also used as a group discussion area, a mark making table and an extensive role play area that can transform into any area of interest for the children. The staff use phase one of the letters and sounds curriculum, where phonics are introduced to aid them when attending school.

These two rooms operate on the first floor.

Each room promotes children as individuals and by using significant observations to plan for the children’s interests and stages of development, we recognise that each child is unique and do not stereotype capabilities according to age.
